Where good intentions fly out the window

posted Sunday, 30 March 2008

I honestly had every intention of finishing up a few projects that need finishing.  I'm talking projects that have been on the needles for an embarrasingly long time, so much so that my best friend won't let me buy any more yarn until I have something done!

Although, she DID let me buy 6 balls of Debbie Bliss Rialto (in cream) so I could knit THIS for the summer.  It'll look great on me, especially when I'm all tanned up!

And while I DID believe I'd finish some of my projects before I cast on, I have just booked flights to go visit family in Canada in June and the t-shirt would be PERFECT to wear while hanging out on a summer afternoon, eating icecream with the kids, maybe having a bar-be-que (without the sauce thanks, don't want to stain my T!).

Thus....I cast on for a gauge swatch and plan to work on it exclusively.  I'm adapting te pattern to knit in the round until armhole shaping, so I think it will be a relatively quick knit.

And my poor unfinished projects will have to wait that little bit longer.

I think working on the t-shirt exclusively is a great idea--you'll look fabulous on your visit to Canada!
